Choose your series
The machine type is the first four characters of the model number on the label underneath the laptop, for example 21HD in 21HD003GUK. Lenovo Vantage and the BIOS screen show it too.
Common Lenovo LOQ faults
LOQ is Lenovo’s more affordable gaming range, launched in 2023 alongside Legion. It uses the same kind of high-power graphics in a thicker, simpler chassis, and most LOQ repairs we see come from heat and heavy daily use:
- Loud fans, high temperatures and frame drops. Dust in the fans and heatsink and dried thermal paste make the processor and graphics chip throttle. A full clean and new paste usually fixes it – see overheating and fan repair.
- Won’t charge or only charges at an angle. LOQ laptops use Lenovo’s rectangular slim-tip charger. A loose or burnt charging socket is a common fault, and a low-wattage charger won’t run the laptop under load.
- No picture on the screen, but the keyboard lights up. Try an external monitor. A good picture there points to the screen or display cable; nothing at all points to the motherboard or graphics chip.
- Keys not working after a spill. Switch it off straight away and don’t charge it until it has been checked.
- Running out of storage. Games fill a 512GB SSD quickly. Most LOQ models take an M.2 SSD upgrade, and many have memory slots that can be upgraded – tell us your model and we’ll confirm.
Finding your LOQ model
The full model name, such as LOQ 15IRH8 or LOQ 15AHP9, is on the label underneath, together with the machine type (the first four characters of the model number). Lenovo Vantage and the BIOS screen show it too. The letters after the screen size tell us the generation and processor, which decides the parts we order.
Questions
Which Lenovo LOQ models do you repair?
All of them, including the LOQ main range and LOQ Essential models. If yours isn’t listed, we still repair it.
Why is my Lenovo LOQ so loud and hot?
Usually dust in the fans and heatsink and dried thermal paste. A clean and new paste normally brings the temperatures and fan noise down.
My LOQ won’t charge. Can you fix it?
Usually. A worn or burnt charging socket is common on gaming laptops; we test the charger and socket and repair the port or the power circuit behind it.
Can you upgrade the SSD in a LOQ?
Yes, on most models. Many can also take more memory; we confirm what your model supports first.
Do you give a price first?
Yes. We find the fault and tell you the price. Nothing is repaired until you agree.
